High school pep bands from across the nation are heading down to Orlando, FL for two weekends of exciting competition at the National School Spirit Championships, all taking place at Walt Disney World Resort's ESPN Wide World of Sports.

The National School Band division allows high school bands to perform in competition to represent their schools on a national stage.

Why Are There Bands At A Cheer And Dance Competition?

Game Day Live, which is aimed predominantly at college-aged performers and can be seen at UCA College Nationals, was the starting point for Varsity's integration of pep band into their school-based competitions. In 2026, there will be entire competitions for the pep bands, as fans will see at High School Spirit Championships. Pep bands can compete in a variety of events including the National High School Cheerleading Championships (NHSCC), National Dance Team Championship (NDTC) and many more.
