The Bluecoats have yet to compete this season, but that hasn't stopped them from turning heads across the country with their 2026 production "Gravity and Grace" after their world debut at the 2026 Bluecoats Opening Night Community Celebration presented by Huntington Bank.
This Sunday, DCI West 2026 the corps will perform in front of the judges for the first time in California over a decade and a half.
The exhibition show featured groups from across the Great Lakes area and served as a celebration of the community that was enjoyed by drum corps fans new and old and was capped off with the 10-time DCI World Championship medalist and 2-time DCI Champion revealing their latest composition.
Following the opening weekend preview, they nearly immediately hit the road (actually, the air) for California.
"We're thrilled to be touring the Golden State, New Mexico, and Arizona for the first time since 2009" said Bluecoats CEO Mike Scott.

The corps flew on Sunday, June 28 from Ohio to California and will take a few days to prepare before performing on Thursday, July 2 at the MidCal Showcase. The corps will compete for their first score at the DCI Capital Classic in Sacramento on the following night.

The Canton corps' first performance in a scored event on FloMarching will be DCI West, annually one of the most competitive shows on the calendar. Now, the lineup gets even more exciting as Bluecoats have their chance to impress a whole new set of fans, far away from home.
They'll also see Santa Clara Vanguard and Blue Devils for the first time, the two corps that were just a few points behind last August at Finals.
