AMP Winter Guard Pulls Out Of Competition At WGI World Championships 2024

One of the top color guard groups in the country, AMP Winter Guard, pulled out of the WGI Guard World Championships in Dayton before the finals. Here's why.

AMP Winter Guard, one of the top Independant World Finalists at the WGI Guard World Championships, pulled out of the competition hours before the finals on April 13 in Dayton. 

AMP Winter Guard, from Camden, N.J. finished 12th in the semifinals of the Independent World semifinals on April 14 and were going to compete in the finals. 

According to a Facebook post, 25 members of the team became ill before the finals, causing the team to withdraw.

WGI said in a post: "We want to congratulate them on an incredible season and qualifying for World Class Finals for the fifth time in the organization’s history!

  • University of Dayton
  • Dayton Convention Center
  • Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio
  • Wright State University’s Nutter Center In Fairborn, Ohio
