Our Song tells the story of our band community’s trials and triumphs of 2020. In our first movement, "You Keep Me Hangin’ On" by Motown’s premier female artist group, the Supremes, we tell the story of our band’s emotions and how we’ve overcome the difficulties of the pandemic and the closures that have separated us. Our second movement features "Changes" by Tupac Shakur which used The Way It Is by Bruce Hornsby to share the struggles of racial injustice. With Changes, we share our nation’s struggles through music and through the words of author and civil rights activist, James Baldwin.
