South Pasadena CA, USA Merlin a marimba solo composed by notable pedagogue and musician, Andrew Thomas. The piece comprises of two movements. The first movement is full of long rolls with heavy, drawn out shaping. The second movement contrasts greatly by featuring an extreme amount of sharp dynamics and bright articulations. In the video, I perform the first half of the second movement.
