The 2024 WGI Guard World Championships began on April 11 in the Southwest Ohio area as thousands of performers and hundreds of groups flocked to the Dayton area for the first of two WGI World Championships this month.

AMP Winter Guard, one of the top Independant World Finalists at the WGI Guard World Championships, pulled out of the competition hours before the finals on April 13 in Dayton.

The defending Independent World WGI Guard Champions are returning to Dayton with hopes of winning again in 2024 at the WGI Guard World Championships.

Avon High School from Avon, Ind. returns to the WGI World Championships in 2024 with hopes of taking home a championship after finishing third last season in the Scholastic World championship division.

The WGI World Championships begin on April 11 in Ohio with the WGI Guard World Championships this week followed by the WGI Percussion and Winds World Championships next week.
