The final weekend in April marks the last chance for corps to get together before the month of move-ins/spring training begins. Mid-May means the beginning of at least four weeks of rigorous training for most World Class drum and bugle corps before they head out on the summer tour.

Before that all happens though, the corps' cast must be set at the final "audition camp," often set in the last weekends of April due to WGI's claim on the first half of the month. This final weekend consists of the most important color guard auditions, which usually include all veterans, callbacks and sometimes many first-time auditionees.

The Blue Devils look to be doing their typical April camp photo/video shoot that they usually use as a backdrop for their show announcement.

On the brass side of things, Bluecoats released a clip of a typical crowdpleaser in the finals lot—a chord progression written by Dave MacKinnon called "Thumbs."

It's important to be on the lookout for any hints or sneak peeks for show information coming from each group as they open up the window into their offseason shenanigans.

Completely unrelated, a guest artist, Cara Wildman, visited The Cavaliers at their April camp to teach the bass and front ensemble sections traditional Irish and bodhran technique. It will be interesting to see if The Cavaliers are bringing Ireland to the field in 2019.

Now that most of the corps have convened for their final time before spring training, that means they have had their final chance to meet and tell the members their show concepts for the 2019 season. That is often the final step before corps start making announcements to the public including show titles, full repertoire lists, and perhaps the most exciting—first looks at 2019 uniforms. Keep your eyes peeled.
