The weekend of festivities in Rochester, NY has officially begun! The final weekend of drum corps in 2017 comes to a close with the DCA World Championship prelims and finals taking place Saturday and Sunday, September 2-3.

The community got some attention from the local media, who interviewed Kidsgrove Scouts drum major Kerrie Brett. The Kidsgrove Scouts made the trip from England last weekend and will compete once again in this year's DCA World Championships. They are currently seeded in 7th in tomorrow's prelims performance order.

Today, DCA hosted an opening ceremony, where the local government welcomed the drum corps community to Rochester and Kidsgrove Scouts played some tunes for a local crowd. Check out the live video from DCA's Facebook page.

If you're in Rochester for the weekend, check out DCA's own Individual and Ensemble competition at the Rochester Convention Center. Soloists will take one of the five stages from 6:00pm to 8:25pm EDT. Once those finish up, there will be a break immediately followed by minicorps, which will take the floor in the Empire Room starting at 9:15pm EDT, you won't want to miss out! Scores for the minicorps competition will be announced around 10:40pm EDT.

DCA World Championship prelims hits the field at 2:00pm EDT tomorrow, September 2, with last year's A Class Champion, Cincinnati Tradition! Don't miss a minute of it and always check back at FloMarching as we post new content throughout the day!
