We saw this video circulating Facebook and were absolutely blown away by Aidan Brown's talent. The eighth-grader at Cedar Park Middle School in Cedar Park, Texas, has an amazing future in front of him.

According to his director, Manuel C. San Luis, Aidan learned the music just by listening to it and hasn't seen a printed note of the classical piece.

We wish Aidan luck as he is headed to a solo and ensemble contest on Saturday, May 6. He has quite the day in front of him with four solos and another ensemble piece to perform -- not to mention that one of them is Ibert's "Concerto for Saxophone."

UPDATE:

We spoke on the phone with Luis and asked him about Aidan's development.

"Aidan's talents having nothing to do with me," Luis said. "He just has a gift."

According to Luis, Aidan is already starting to get phone calls and correspondences from universities across the country that are recruiting the young star. He's also been invited to perform at the famed Carnegie Hall in June.

But it isn't just Aidan's playing abilities that have the faculty at Cedar Park Middle School excited about his future. It's also his composing.

"He's already picking up the composition techniques of Bach and Beethoven," Luis said. "Aidan's teaching himself a retrograde style of composing to write four-part harmonies and melodies. He really just uses his ears to write, and when you analyze it, the theory is correct."

As far as the circular breathing demonstrated in the video, Luis said that Aidan's private lessons teacher demonstrated it for him one day and Aidan was able to replicate it at home. It is the same technique developed by world-renowned saxophonist Harvey Pittel.
