From the Bands of America world, 2016 Grand National silver medalist Avon High School announced that it is making the long trip to the BOA Super Regional in San Antonio, Texas.

Avon Announces Trip To 2017 BOA San Antonio Super Regional

Now that DCI has concluded we shift gears to the fall marching band season. The2016 Grand National silver medalist Avon High School announced that it will be making the long trip to the 2017 BOA Super Regional in San Antonio, Texas, in November.

The Indiana program has a long list of accomplishments from both BOA contests and WGI Sport of the Arts as well. This past fall it was named the champion of the 2016 BOA Indianapolis Super Regional. More recently, the color guard ensemble finished second in the scholastic world division at the 2017 WGI Color Guard World Championships.

Avon's percussion and winds ensembles will both be performing at the 2017 WGI Percussion and Winds World Championships, beginning April 20 in Dayton, Ohio.

The Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional is known as one of the most highly anticipated events in the BOA season. Adding another incredible marching band like Avon to mix will only make things more amazing on November 3-4 at the Alamodome.

The 2016 contest in San Antonio featured one unbelievable program after another. Here were the finalists from that contest:

Of the bands at the 2016 San Antonio Super Regional, four made the trip to Grand Nationals: Leander, Claudia Taylor Johnson, Ronald Reagan, and Cedar Park. All four made it to Grand National Finals. Two other Texas bands made the trip to Indianapolis as well with James Bowie (Grand National Semi-Finalist) and Whitesboro High School.

This could be the most talented lineup of bands a BOA Super Regional has ever seen. Here's the current list of bands as of July 6, 2017.
