Western Carolina Puts Marching World On Notice
Check out the highlights from Vic Firth's visit with Western Carolina University drumline.

While Alabama and Clemson battle it out to decide which team is college football's national champion on Monday night, one can only speculate as to what was the nation's best college marching program this past year. Though it lacks the massive audience of some other schools, the Western Carolina band is right in the mix.
As one of the hidden gems of the college ranks, WCU's Pride of the Mountains normally performs for less than a thousand spectators, unlike the Clemson band, which entertained 71,279 at the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, last weekend.
However, that does not mean the Western Carolina has lower expectations to put on a great show -- especially when there is an opportunity to write bass splits for seven drums!
