The accolades for the "Human Jukebox" continue to stack up.
The "world-renowned and internationally famed" HBCU band was recently tapped to be featured in a massive GAP denim ad that perfectly paired Juke's precision and tradition with the long-standing denim giant.
The multi-post campaign on GAP's socials featured the Human Jukebox in several different scenes: showing off their custom Southern University dark blue "Canadian tuxedos," Dr. Kedric Taylor explaining how the community impacts the band just as much as the band members impact the community with their performances, and Juke doing what Juke does best - playing the hell out of their horns.
The first piece of content put out by GAP in this series was a two minute video of the Human Jukebox playing "Dancing On My Own." Here's what GAP had to say in the caption of the video:
Southern University’s Human Jukebox brings their interpretation to “Dancing On My Own.” Putting a new lens on the track that feels distinctly theirs.
The celebrated marching band has a legacy of music and movement. Famous for their energy and dynamic performances. Wearing denim their own way — together.

Within one photo carousal that GAP posted were a few quotes from members of the Human Jukebox. One talked about how electric it is to be part of the "vibrating" sound of the band when they all come in on the same note, one talked about why they love playing their specific instrument, and one perfectly encapsulated the whole marching band experience:
"We get to show all the hard work, late nights, and early mornings on performance day - and it's even better when we get to see the crowd enjoy it."
Henry - Music Education major and piccolo player
The Human Jukebox is no stranger to the spotlight. The band has performed at Radio City Music Hall, Super Bowl Halftime shows, Presidential inaugurations, music videos, the Rose Bowl Parade, and much more. Known for their electrifying halftime and 5th Quarter performances, the Human Jukebox has wowed crowds around the world for nearly eighty years.
About Southern University's Human Jukebox:
An opportunity to witness the Southern University Marching Band is an opportunity to witness music in motion. This band has raised the bar and set precedents for other collegiate marching bands and ensembles. OFTEN IMITATED BUT NEVER DUPLICATED, the band prides itself on the unique ability to execute precision drills better than any other marching ensemble in the country.
