The Academy returns to the 2026 DCI World Championship in Indianapolis representing Tempe, Ariz., after spending two decades building opportunities for young performers across the Southwest. The corps has grown from a regional music education initiative into a consistent presence in Drum Corps International's World Class division.

The corps celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025, The Academy was approved as a DCI-sanctioned corps in 2004 and began competition that same year. During its first trip to the DCI World Championships in 2006, the corps won the Division II gold medal before earning its first World Class finals appearance in 2016.
