WGI World Championship history was made on Saturday April 12, as three ensembles broke percussion scoring records at the 2025 WGI Percussion Championships.

The previous Independent World scoring record was set by Pulse Percussion in 2022, when the ensemble achieved a total score of 98.925. The previous Scholastic World record of 98.775 was set by Chino Hills in 2018.

On the Final Day of the 2025 WGI Percussion World Championship, Rhythm X (PIW), RCC (PIW) and Ayala HS (PSW) broke history threefold, all recording final scores above 99.

Rhythm X, who took second place in the Independent World competition, scored a total of 99.063 points, a new PIW record in its own.

However, RCC, who have fought with Pulse and Rhythm X for years to claim the top spot, finally achieved their goal, taking first place with a new PIW record score of 99.163.

And yet, this wasn't all.

The final ensemble of the three, Ayala HS, shattered the PSW record of 98.775 by scoring not only the new PSW record, but also the new overall WGI Percussion record, at 99.500.
