Ryan Crookham defeated defending 133-pound NCAA Champion and 61-kg World Champion Vito Arujau, 10-6 in the EIWA Championships on March 9 on the campus of Bucknell.

The No. 1-ranked freshman beat Arujau atJourneymen Collegiate Classic in November and remained undefeated on the year.

Crookham secured a takedown late in the third period to take a 9-6 lead just before Arujau went down with a lower leg injury in the match. The three-time defending NCAA champion finished the match but was unable to mount a comeback.

Crookham will likely be the No. 1 seed at the NCAA Tournament on March 19.
