Another week into the new year, and we've already got another show announcement in the books! Next up on the list of DCI ensembles to unveil information about its upcoming summer program is Spirit of Atlanta. Its 2024 show is titled, "Creatures."

If fans head over to Spirit's website, there is a lengthy show announcement article that is packed with information about the inspiration for the show, themes fans can expect to see, and so much more. In their own words:

"Creatures" is a thematic masterpiece that invites viewers to explore the multifaceted realm of creatures in our lives. The program unfolds in six mesmerizing chapters, each narrating a distinct phase of interaction with the imaginary. From the initial awakening of the creatures to their playful, fearsome, and mischievous antics, and culminating in a joyous celebration of unity, "Creatures" is a narrative spectacle like no other." - Spirit of Atlanta

"Creatures" is set to unfold in six chapters: Awakening, Frolic, Nightmares, Night Sailing, Mischief, and Entwined. The press release states, "...each segment of "Creatures" narrates a distinct phase of interaction with the imaginary. From the initial awakening of the creatures to their playful, fearsome, and mischievous antics, and finally, to a celebration of unity, the show is a narrative spectacle."

Within the press release, fans also get some insight into music and staging for Spirit of Atlanta's 2024 program. Expect "expansive vinyl stages," "two significant head structures," "4 creatures that might even exceed 7 ft in height," and a whole lot of fun and eclectic musical selections. While no repertoire list has been made public yet, Spirit promises to feature well-known artists, popular movie music, classical rock, and more to lend to creating a musical soundscape that compliments the visual portion of the program.

Spirit of Atlanta makes its 2024 DCI debut on July 5th at Brass on the Beach, linking up with Boston Crusaders, Carolina Crown, Crossmen, Music City, and more. Fans can see Spirit at many exciting shows throughout the summer, including CrownBEAT on July 6, DCI Southwestern Championship on July 20, DCI Eastern Classic on August 3 (Saturday), and DCI World Championships on August 8-11.
