"next LEVEL" is an experimental show concept that radically rethinks our options for performance in the marching arts in the wake of our current socially distant situations.

What you see here is the product of our first "Show Day" this past week and performances were given in front of our large mobile blue screens following the Los Angeles County Department of Health sports cohort, masking and social distancing guidelines. Without such requirements, "next LEVEL", would never have escaped the idea bin of our minds and we are so excited to bring it to you at the 2020 WBA Finale. What better place to see a virtual show in a virtual world than at the first WBA Virtual Festival Series Finale!

We would like to thank our staff and our parent vollunteers for their tireless support. Without their efforts this would truly not have been possible as we are still only able to function under the cohorting guidelines which limit the cohoot size to no more that 12 students and 2.

Each of the Mira Costa High School performances has a lead in that starts to explain little bits about how we have been able to find ways to rehearse and ultimately perform here at the WBA Virtual Festival Finale despite having some of the strictest quarantining regulations in the country in Los Angeles County, California. While the videos make many things clear, it remains to be said that our wind instrument players are still not allowed to play wind instruments in person at all in our county and all though the marching band has been able to practice and perform in person visually with the winds and colorguard and musically with the drumline, our concert and jazz ensembles have been 100% distance for every person since March of 2020. We hope you enjoy our performances and look forward to bringing the feedback from the adjudicators back into rehearsal as we continue to practice and prepare for our final performance of this material and more at our Winter Concert, coming soon to a screen near you December 23rd, 7PM PST. Check www.miracostabands.com for details on purchasing tickets as we get closer to the beginning of December!
