RECAP: The 2022 USBands Season Ends On A High Note

And just like that, the 2022 USBands season has come to an end.

Competitions across the Northeast and South ushered in the end of the USBands season, with the competing groups going out on a high note with season-high scores and outstanding displays of pageantry. So, let's dive into the results:

2 In A Row for Dartmouth High School at Open Class National Championships

With many of the competing groups calling the Open Class National Championships their last performance of the season, the race to the top of the leaderboard was fierce.

In the Open 5 classification, Dartmouth High School claimed their second gold medal in as many seasons with their 2022 program titled 'Forgotten.' The Massachusetts-based group also swept all captions, earning recognition for best all-around music, visual, and color guard performance with a score of 97.700.

Downingtown High School claimed the silver medal with a score of 96.350, while North Penn High School took home the bronze medal. In the Open 4 Class, Edison High School brought home gold with a decisive 2-point victory over second-place Loudoun County High School. The two programs earned scores of 96.500 and 94.300, respectively. Central New York-based group Cicero-North Syracuse earned the bronze medal with a score of 94.000 rounding out the medalist ensembles.

It was an extremely close race at the top in the Open 3 classification, with Council Rock High School squeaking out a victory and earning gold with a score of 93.750. It was a photo finish for second, with King Philips ultimately earning the silver medal with a score of 93.250, while Blackstone-Millville High School claimed bronze with a score of 93.150.
