DCI 2020: The Season That Could Have Been

After the cancellation of the 2020 Drum Corps International summer tour, we're left with an overwhelming sense of wonder about what corps will do, how the activity may progress past this, and what the outcome may be for organizations and people on the ground floor.

DCI 2020 Canceled After Corps Come To Unanimous Decision

After weeks of discussion over the recent coronavirus outbreak, the voting membership of Drum Corps International came to a unanimous conclusion that the 2020 DCI season will not take place. As a part of this announcement, they have also come to the consensus that age-out performers, or those that are in their final year of the activity at age 21 (or 22 if their birthday falls during the season), will be given a one-year extension of eligibility.

Exclusive: Q&A With Diamante's Mario Ramirez On 2020 Costume Design

Diamante Winterguard, based in Anaheim, CA, has become one of the most influential performance ensembles competing in WGI today. Their deeply emotional and elegant programs exploring fragile, complex human connections have catapulted the guard into the upper echelons of the sport, earning them a Bronze Medal as recently as the 2019 WGI World Championships. Needless to say, the color guard world waited with anticipation to see what the innovative company would do next.
