The Spartans

This year, the Spartans are the closest to earning another title than they have ever been in the last 9 years. They are currently in first heading into Open Class Championships next week. Their current top score of 77.45 is also the highest score that the corps has seen since the judging sheets changed to match those of World Class. Could they also be pushing for their highest placement at world championships? Their highest was 20th in Division I competition back in 2001.

Jersey Surf

The Jersey Surf are also having their best run in a few years time. Their current highest score of the season, 74.20 is the highest since their last semi-finals appearance in 2014 where they placed 22nd, with a score of 75.80. The corps is already scoring over 4 points above their prelims score from last season and with just about a week left of the season, who knows how many of their own records they will push to break.

Pacific Crest

With their score of 81.00 just a few days ago, Pacific Crest has already shattered their semi-finals score of from last year of 79.30 and they're just 1.30 away from breaking their highest score ever. Currently sitting in 16th place, Pacific Crest is hot on the heels of The Academy, who are also having an incredible year. If Pacific Crest is able to pull ahead, a 15th place finish would also be the highest in the corps' history.

Mandarins

The Mandarins have not once this season let up on the momentum that they built last season. With a recent score of 87.15, the Mandarins are just a point behind of their finals finish from last year. A recent show also put the Mandarins in line with perennial finalists the Blue Stars, Blue Knights, and the Cadets. If they're able to maintain their current placement, this would be the corps' second World Class finals appearance.
