Ankeny, a suburb just north of Des Moines in Iowa, is about a 3 hour drive from the Colts' home base from Dubuque. A lot of Colts fans made that drive and cheered both them and the Colt Cadets on tonight, giving the 2019 Celebration in Brass a very home field vibe for the Red Teams.

Looking at the recaps, it was a very first place vibe for Bluecoats tonight, but Santa Clara continues to remain within striking distance. SCV took top percussion honors, as well as visual proficiency and visual analysis. Bluecoats took first in all other captions.

The Blue Stars established a significant lead over the Mandarins in their first head-to-head meeting with a more than 2 point gap between the two corps. Mandarins did make a statement in the brass caption, besting Blue Stars in that column of the sheets by 0.3.

The Colts remained ahead of The Academy, but the gap has closed significantly to just a point from the nearly three and a half point lead the Colts had at their first meeting last week. Academy sits ahead of Colts in overall visual as well as brass, but will need to make up a large deficit in percussion as the Colts' drum line is at a Finalist caliber level, placing ahead of the Mandarins as well as Academy tonight.
