Preview: Drums Along the Rockies

Another great DCI show in the Mile High Stadium will be coming LIVE to FloMarching this weekend, starting at 6:30 PM MT. Drums Along the Rockies is always a great show for the Blue Knights to shine in their home city, plus it always brings out two Open Class corps that we don't get to see too often on FloMarching. The two corps kick off the show so don't miss Columbians and The Battalion.

Here are a few things you'll need to keep your eyes on for the 2019 Drums Along the Rockies!

Open Class Showdown

Columbians and The Battalion are two corps that don't give you too many chances to catch them throughout the summer tour—making it that much more important for you to catch them in this Saturday's event! Neither corps has attended DCI Open Class Championships yet, but it might not long before we do.

Blue Knights/Crossmen/The Cadets

The battleground in the middle/tail end of the finalist spots is so uncertain at this time of year. As the corps make their way around the country, they are constantly going back and forth between competing against people extremely close to their tier, and not seeing anyone within 2-3 placements of their previous year's finish. DATR is one instance where three corps will be in one place with a very close proximity in scores—The Cadets, Blue Knights, and Crossmen.

The Cadets and Crossmen got a taste of that proximity in Souix City, IA on July 9. The two were only separated by 1.300 with The Cadets earning the top spot. Blue Knights are sort of the wild card in this mix, having placed between the two in the 2018 DCI World Championship Finals, but only have half of the performances that the other two do so far in 2019.

Blue Devils

If you've been keeping up with the recent DCI 2019 streams on FloMarching, you know that changes are being made to corps' shows all over the place. It's been quite a while since we last saw the Blue Devils perform their show "Ghostlight," so Saturday will be a good chance to catch up on all of their changes. Watch them at 9:28 PM MT.

5 Great Shows That Didn't Make The 2019 DCI Finals

Every year, the DCI community is treated to so many great shows from top to bottom of placement. Each day fewer corps perform and only the top 12 are able to play in finals competition. While those are scored by the judges as being the best of the best, there are still plenty of great shows that didn't make the cut. Here are a few of the top shows that weren't able to make finals.

Schedule & Scores For 2019 DCI World Championship Finals

Prelims featured 36 corps and after 13 hours of performances, the numbers were narrowed to 25. A select few Open Class corps moved on with the entire contingent of DCI's World Class corps to perform in Friday's World Championship Semifinals. Seattle Cascades were the last corps in, while Louisiana Stars just barely missed the cut-off, ending what was a fantastic season for the 7-year old drum corps.

Caption Recap: 2019 DCI World Championship Prelims

With just two days left to the DCI season, everyone's eyes are on finals night and what it might take to get there. But some of the best surprises of the night aren't even the medals; they're the caption awards. Caption awards are actually based on the average recap score category of the three nights combined, so this is just one day's worth of info. Here are the front runners heading into Semi-Finals.
