Drum corps makes its way southeast for the first time in 2019, as DCI returns to Orlando for its annual early July regional at Camping World Stadium. This is the time of the drum corps season when show lineups begin to mix it up a little, and this year's Orlando regional gives us a couple compelling stories.

Carolina Crown and Boston Crusaders, Together Again

Crown and BAC meet up for the first time in almost two weeks. Boston has been touring with Bluecoats for much of the season. While they have not pulled ahead of the jackets in azul, Cru has stayed within striking distance. Meanwhile, Carolina has been the crown jewel of the shows they've attended, but have not faced competition from their tier of the activity since June 24th. This showdown between Boston and Crown will be interesting, to say the least.

Spirit of Atlanta and Phantom Regiment Can't Quit Each Other

Spirit of Atlanta came out of the gate making history, moving ahead of Phantom Regiment for the first time since 1986 DCI World Championships Finals. At their last meeting at the end of June, however, Phantom had closed the gap between them to just a couple tenths of a point. Currently, these two corps are currently battling for the 12th and final spot at Finals this season, so it's safe to say that the eyes of the drum corps activity are focused on this showdown.
