SoCal brings drum corps to Pasadena and the Rose Bowl with a vengeance in 2019. The lineup features five of last year’s World Class Finalists, including the defending world champion Santa Clara Vanguard and the seventeen time champion Blue Devils, but also includes the 2019 debut of six SoCal Open Class corps. Here’s what you can expect Saturday night:

Vessel/Incognito/Impulse/Watchmen/Golden Empire/Gold

It’s Open Class-a-palooza as all of these drum corps premiere their 2019 productions in one of the most historic sports arenas in America. Only two of these corps, Golden Empire and Gold, are making the trip to DCI Open Class Championships in August, so chances to check out Vessel, Incognito, Impulse, and Watchmen live are few and limited to The Golden State. This is also the only time these four corps will appear on FloMarching, so you do not want to miss this opportunity!

Blue Knights/Genesis/Pacific Crest

It is also the debut of these three World Class corps, two of which have travelled far to begin their 2019 seasons. With the performances of the Blue Knights, Genesis, and Pacific Crest, 20 of DCI’s 22 World Class corps will have competed so far.

Cavaliers

They may be from The Wrong Side of the Tracks, but the Green Machine is enjoying their return to the Left Coast and Pasadena. The last time the Cavies were in the Rose Bowl was the 2007 DCI World Championships, where they finished 3rd.

Santa Clara Vanguard/Blue Devils

These two West Coast powerhouses picked up right where they left off, with SCV taking all three matchups last week. Neither corps has competed since last Sunday, however. What changes have both corps made to their productions? How much have they improved over the past six days? Will Vanguard remain undefeated or will BD make a move?
