Three hours of incredible performances to open the 2019 season in the best fashion on the first Saturday night of the season. If you know drum corps, you know it's all about Saturday night. Here are a few things to look out for during the first show of the season coming live to FloMarching.

Vanguard Cadets & Blue Devils B Keep It In Cali

Shortly after the conclusion of the 2018 season, the Blue Devils B Corps and Vanguard Cadets announced that they would no longer end their season at the DCI World Championships. Not only that, but they would no longer leave the state of California during their summer tour.

DCI West will be the first chance to see the results of that announcement. Not to mention, it will reveal how a reduced tour affects the show design and standards of execution from the two corps. The focus is especially on the Vanguard Cadets after two impressive Open Class championships in 2017 and 2018. Blue Devils B is also no joke with their six Open Class titles since 2008.

Mandarins Move Into Stanford Stadium

If you've seen any of our content on the 2019 Mandarins, you know that they are not only pushing harder on the gas pedal—they are pushing the gas pedal through the floorboard.

The Mandarins' design team is shooting for a medal and landing wherever they can. "Subterra" will undoubtedly be one of the shows to watch all season long as they produce it and mold it week by week. Do not miss this corps live for the first time on FloMarching at 8:59 PM PT in Stanford Stadium.

Santa Clara Vanguard Goes For Round Two

It goes without being said that Vanguard will be on everyone's mind this weekend. Whether you're sitting in the theater at the Tour Premiere or waiting in line to buy a ticket in Stanford, CA—Santa Clara Vanguard is the main attraction at this year's DCI West.

Not only is SCV the main attraction, but their neighbors, the Blue Devils, happen to be in town as well. In fact, the Blue Devils will close out the night. All eyes are on these two as they set out to pursue perfection in the 2019 season.
