What can we say other than that it's been an incredible season and we aren't quite ready for it to come to an end. One thing we are ready for, though, is a day full of the best indoor percussion performances from Scholastic Open all the way up to the top of the top, Independent World.

These groups have worked hard at perfecting their technique—pushing themselves to their limits of character and performance.

Scholastic Open

The final fifteen have been decided and it was a very close race for the final spot in finals. Trumbull earned an 88.350 in semifinals today, topping the 16th and 17th place groups by .137 (Pace HS) and .200 (Mt. Juliet HS).

Sparkman HS is currently leading the class with a 94.150 with second place currently being held by Clear Brook HS at a 93.300. Five Scholastic Open groups scored within a point of Trumbull's 88.350, making it a toss-up from 10th to 15th, including the recently promoted Victor J. Andrew HS.

Watch the 2019 WGI World Championship Finals for Scholastic Open beginning at 9 AM ET at UD Arena.

Independent Open

The top fifteen Independent Open groups are primed to enter UD Arena, tackle the tunnel, and lay it all out there for huge Dayton crowd. Bakersfield College currently sits atop a pack of 95s that the 2nd-5th place groups earned in Friday's semifinals.

Spirit Winter Percussion currently sits in second, the same place that the Massachusetts group finished in 2018. This time, though, they are about four-tenths higher in score with a 95.738. Not far behind them, Matrix Open currently sits in 5th behind Violet Crown and Infinity 2 with a 95.125.

Scholastic World

With each of the top 3 being separated by about one point, the most interesting groupings for Scholastic World lie further down the score sheet. After prelims, Avon HS sat in seventh place with a 90.325 but has quickly taken strides up the ranks to fourth where they now sit only .7 behind Dartmouth HS in 3rd.

In a fight for 5th, Ayala HS and Burleson Centennial HS sit only .012 from each other; the fight for 8th is in the hands of Homestead HS and Franklin Central HS which are separated by only .075.

Independent World

Atlanta Quest was the last group in after today's semifinals competition with just a .112-point lead over Vessel, a newer PIW group which still made quite an impact on the 2019 season. POW Percussion moved up today, taking a lead over GMU by just one-tenth.

Leading the charge in PIW is Broken City with an impressive 98.225. Last night's leader, Pulse, sits in second with a 97.525. It's yet another interesting year to watch the Music City Mystique/Rhythm X conflict as they both try to reach for a medal. MCM currently leads Rhythm X by .200 with a score of 96.975.

See how everything shakes out and watch the 2019 WGI World Championship Finals for Independent World beginning at 8:10 PM ET at UD Arena.
