What better way to blindly predict results with no context than by using a couple of numbers to justify your conclusion? I've put together two lists of all World Class groups attending the 2019 WGI World Championships next week in Dayton.
One for Scholastic World, and one for Independent World. The groups are in order of most recent score, but I have included the "week #" of their most recent performance as well—8 is the most recent weekend of power regionals, 7 the previous weekend of power regionals, etc.
WGI's own seedings are made up from these same numbers, but they throw a little extra handicap in there for the groups that haven't performed recently. That is, in week #1 a handicap of 10.5 is added to everyone's score in order to find the "seeding score." Every week after that, the handicap is reduced by 1.5 to eventually result in week 8 scores having no additional bump of 1.5.
