Top 5 Drill Moves Of BOA Week 1

Starting on September 22, you can catch some of the best high school bands in the country perform every single weekend LIVE on FloMarching until everything comes to a close at the 2018 BOA Grand National Finals in November.

With nine full weekends of events, it can be hard to keep track of everything available to watch throughout the season, so we've picked out some of the biggest and best events with the top programs in the country that are must-see for FloMarching viewers.

Don't forget, however, that there will be groups worth watching at EVERY single event streamed on FloMarching, large or small—so don't ONLY stick to this list. This is just a starting place!

September 22 - 2018 Bands of America Oxford Regional

Although it'll be the early season and the first weekend out for a number of high school bands, the BOA Oxford show is looking to still be a must-watch event, including a performance from the reigning BOA Grand National Finals champion!

Carmel will debut their 2018 program on September 22 at Miami University along with a number of other incredible programs from the Midwest, like Centerville (OH), Lakota West (OH), Lebanon (OH), Miamisburg (OH), and Williamstown (KY).

Some of these smaller groups from Ohio can pack a pretty mighty punch in percussion and guard due to their strong winter programs and drum corps veteran-laden instructional staff.

September 29 - 2018 Bands of America Austin Regional

Texas is definitely its own beast when it comes to the high school marching arena in the United States. Although we will see some pretty phenomenal Texas bands in Midland and McAllen the weekend before, BOA Austin will be a must-watch event from start to finish.

The 2018 BOA Austin line-up includes: Cedar Park (TX), Cedar Ridge (TX), Claudia Taylor Johnson (TX), James Bowie (TX), Leander (TX), Hendrickson (TX), Round Rock (TX), and Vandegrift (TX).

Stacked to the brim with groups that could go against the best in the rest of the country, many of the groups that compete in Austin will have a very good chance at making the 2018 BOA San Antonio Super Regional finals down the road.

October 19-20 - 2018 Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional

Not only are the super regionals the biggest events of the season, but they are also the most entertaining of the season—excluding grand nationals, of course!

Well, to kick off the 2018 "super regional season," we've got the two-day Indy Super with over 60 groups performing in prelims!

Don't miss these 2017 BOA Grand National finalists perform their 2018 programs in Indianapolis on October 19: Avon (IN), Carmel (IN), Castle (IN), Blue Springs (MO) and even Union (OK).

October 26-27 - 2018 Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional

Moving on to the next weekend of "super regional season," we have a whole new cast of groups from the central United States, more from the Midwest, and a couple of groups from the South.

Nebraska represents with Bellevue East (NE) and West (NE) making the trip to Missouri, not to mention a surprise trip from three Texas schools: Drippings Springs (TX), Weiss (TX), and Sherman (TX).

These Texas groups, in particular, will be looking for some final critiques from the judges before getting into their biggest show of the season: the 2018 BOA San Antonio Super Regional.

November 2-3 - 2018 Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional

This year, the San Antonio Super Regional holds more weight than any other. With only ONE (1) group from Texas attending Grand Nats (Prosper), San Antonio has risen to become the Super Bowl before the Super Bowl.

To give you an idea, Avon (IN) attended last year's San Antonio Super Regional and came in fourth place. The next weekend at BOA Grand National finals, the band earned third. Similar story: Round Rock (TX) made the trip to Indianapolis for the 2017 Grand Nats and finished in 12th overall.

How did they do the weekend before in San Antonio? 18th.

Be sure to follow through each weekend as Bands of America visits different areas of Texas to keep up with every band that you'll see at the 2018 BOA San Antonio Super Regional.
