Many drum corps across the country are now halfway through their five-week spring training. Community performances have started up and fans are getting their first look at what corps will be bringing to the field in 2018!

Other news has hit social media this weekend including Phantom Regiment dropping some slick new uniforms and Bluecoats unveiling a jazzy playlist for their 2018 soundtrack.

FloMarching Visits Genesis In West, Texas

Senior editor Michael Gilley spent some time with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps this weekend to get a preseason look at the corps. The FloMarching social media accounts were inundated with Genesis content so check that out and get your first 2018 look at this very young and powerful Texas-based corps!


Bluecoats Announce 2018 Repertoire

Along with a colorful video with splashes of bright greens, yellows, purples, and reds, the Bluecoats announced their 2018 show music on Saturday at around noon ET. 

The list includes:

  • "Bird & Bela In B Flat" by Don Sebesky
  • "American Concerto" by Patrick Williams
  • "Dry Cleaner (from Des Moines)" by Joni Mitchell, Charles Mingus
  • "Saro," an English folk ballad, aka "Pretty Saro"
  • "Home (from Congo Square)" by Wynton Marsalis
  • "God Bless The Child" by Billie Holiday


Phantom Regiment's New Look

Phantom Regiment has a habit of changing its uniform every season while also maintaining the "Phantom Regiment" feel. The new uniforms for 2018 definitely capture that same effect.

The corps wore the new uniforms in a parade on Sunday, paired with its traditional helmets. However, it is unlikely the corps will wear helmets this summer due to the functionality of the hood on the new uniform.
