Blue Stars announced its 2018 program called "The Once And Future Carpenter." Along with a show graphic, the corps also announced the musical selections for the full program.

The announcement is filled with references to wood, metal, and building in general, while the lyrics of the music selections focus on the timeline of moving on from the past to the future.

The show graphic itself is very similar to an album cover done by The Avett Brothers called "The Carpenter"—the first song of which, coincidentally or not, is titled "The Once And Future Carpenter."

Looking into some of the other pieces of music like "We've Only Just Begun," "They Long To Be (Close To You)," "Rainy Days And Mondays," and "I Won't Last A Day Without You," there is a clear pattern of music performed by The Carpenters.

Blue Stars also plan to mix in some classical-style pieces with "Skyscrapers" by John Alden Carpenter and "Images Obliees" by Claude Debussy. It seems that the show will transition back and forth between toe-tapping folksy music and technically-challenging passages.
