11:20 AM - [Open] El Capitan (CA) at Nutter Center

El Capitan's 2018 WGI season started at the WGI Bakersfield regional in early February. The group placed second in Scholastic Open finals, with a score of 67.20.

At the West Power Regional, El Capitan earned fourth in Scholastic Open with a score of 82.35—behind Diamond Bar and El Dorado, two groups that will also be in Dayton in Scholastic Open.

11:29 AM - [Open] El Dorado (CA) at Nutter Center

El Dorado started its WGI season at the Riverside regional on February 17. The group earned first in prelims with a 75.8 and improved to a 77.9 in finals competition later that same day.

At the West Power Regional, El Dorado earned an 86.90 in finals competition, putting it in first place for Scholastic Open.

1:10 PM - [World] Arcadia (CA) at Dayton Arena

Although Arcadia came in fifth place at the West Power Regional, it was in the company of some of the strongest color guards from California. Making Power Regional finals was an accomplishment on its own, and Arcadia was just 0.05 behind the fourth-place group, Golden Valley (CA), which will not be attending this year's WGI World Championships.

1:44 PM - [Open] Diamond Bar (CA) at Nutter Center

Diamond Bar also attended the Riverside Regional along with El Dorado and Mt. Carmel, placing second in Scholastic Open class finals with a score of 74.70. Later on in the season, the group scored a 79.90 at the Chino Hills Regional on March 11—an improvement from their prelims score of 78.90.

At the West Power Regional, Diamond Bar brought its score up to an 83.65 in finals performance. This put the group just ahead of El Capitan, which earned an 82.35.

2:40 PM - [World] Stockdale (CA) at Dayton Arena

Performing early in the season at the WGI Riverside Regional in mid-February, Stockdale was the only Scholastic World guard to compete and earned a 69.70 in finals. Three weeks later, Stockdale placed second at the Chino Hills Regional, between Ayala (CA) and Golden Valley.

At the West Power Regional on March 24-25, Stockdale was sandwiched between the same groups in prelims and finals—Ayala and Golden Valley, with Arcadia squeezing in as well during prelims. Stockdale placed third with an 80.35.

3:40 PM - [World] Ayala (CA) at Dayton Arena

Ayala is one of the must-watch groups that's coming all the way from California to compete in Scholastic World class at the University of Dayton Arena. Earlier in the season, Ayala topped Scholastic World at the Chino Hills regional with a 78.70.

Ayala earned second place most recently at the West Power Regional in finals competition with a score of 84.45—almost half a point higher than its prelims score the day before.

4:57 PM - [A] Rancho Cucamonga (CA) at BB&T Arena

Rancho Cucamonga came in fourth place in prelims at the Chino Hills regional, with a full three rounds of Scholastic A guards. The group scored more than six points higher than the next best guard in its round and improved its score by nearly a 1 1/2 points from prelims to finals (82.89).

At the West Power Regional, Rancho Cucamonga placed third in prelims—but first in its round by over five points—with an 83.170, behind Lemoore and Vista Murrieta.

6:10 PM - [A] Mayfair (CA) at BB&T Arena

Despite a sixth-place score in prelims, Mayfair gained ground and advanced to fifth place after their finals run earlier this season at the Chino Hills regional in mid-March. The group fell just short of 80 with a score of 79.73.

Mayfair did not make finals at the West Power Regional on March 24. Its score deflated to a 75.78, among a rigorous four rounds of Scholastic A competition in prelims.

7:46 PM - [Open] Mt. Carmel (CA) at Nutter Center

Another group in Scholastic Open class, Mt. Carmel started its season at the Riverdale regional and despite earning sixth in prelims, improved to fifth place in finals, jumping Upland (CA).

With a 78.30, Mt. Carmel placed third in round one of Scholastic Open competition at the WGI West Power Regional. The group advanced to Power Regional finals and earned a solid 80, putting it in sixth place overall.

8:23 PM - [A] El Camino Real Charter (CA) at Cintas Center

El Camino Real Charter started the season strong at the Riverside regional with a 71.96 in prelims (fourth) and 73.21 in finals (fifth).

Among the four rounds of Scholastic A competition at the West Power Regional, El Camino Real Charter earned fifth place in prelims and advanced to third place ahead of Palm Desert (CA) and Rancho Cucamonga (CA). El Camino scored an 82.27 in prelims and 84.60 in finals competition.
