WGI 2018 Sets The Stage In San Antonio

After a long stretch of highly anticipated show announcements, rehearsal videos, and Twitter memes, the first WGI Guard Regional of 2018 to be live-streamed on FloMarching is upon us!

Let's take a look at some of the standouts that you won't want to miss during the San Antonio Regional in New Braunfels, Texas, this Saturday. Check out the full schedule for the show here.

Watch the 2018 WGI Guard San Antonio Regional LIVE on FloMarching

2:20 PM CT — Round 3 of Scholastic A

By far WGI's largest class in the Color Guard divison, Scholastic A makes up an abundance of the performances you will watch all season on FloMarching. Many of these groups are able to focus more on training individual performers rather than taking large sweeping brushes to cleaning their shows.

You will also see the most variety when it comes to show design in Scholastic A. If you're interested in visual design, Scholastic A is a great place to watch a lot of groups as they work their way up into WGI's best of the best and try to execute on show ideas that may not work in Open or World class.

Don't miss groups such as Leander (Texas) at 2:52 PM CT and Winston Churchill (Texas) at 3:16 PM!

3:24 PM CT — ATX A Winterguard

Having JUST announced its show on Tuesday, ATX A Winterguard is certainly ready to take the stage in New Braunfels this Saturday. Representing Independent A, ATX A will debut its show "Sincerely," between Round 3 of Scholastic A and the start of the Scholastic Open groups.

The group also leaked a short, four-second video featuring what we believe is a piece of music from its show. Although it's not much, it's certainly enough to make us want more on Saturday afternoon!

4:30 PM CT — ORIGINS "Where Dreams Begin"

From the minds of Geoffrey Sperling and Christopher McCarthy comes a brand-new color guard from Austin, Texas: ORIGINS Colorguard.

Catch its 2018 program, "Where Dreams Begin," at 4:30 PM, featuring the group's 26 performers and design and staging by John Lemire. Lemire has experience in design and staging with groups such as The Cadets, Cadets2, Claudia Taylor Johnson (Texas), and even Trumbull (CT).
