UPDATE:

Pulse Percussion revealed the uniforms for its 2018 show "Guarded" on Wednesday, and it looks like the organization is bringing Mortal Kombat to the gym floor in 2018.

The group also announced it would be utilizing a string quartet for the first time in WGI Percussion history — see the posts below for more info!

Guarded and The Fate of Kings

After announcing a partnership with music group Son Lux in December, Pulse Percussion has revealed its show title for the 2018 season: "Guarded."

Fellow member of the Pulse family POW also released the name of its show earlier this week, entitled "The Fate of Kings."

In teaming up with Son Lux, Pulse will play the New York-based post-rock group's music in 2018 and partner with it on a special project. Listeners of Son Lux's work may have also heard the band's song "Easy" sampled on rapper G-Eazy's latest album.

Even if Pulse doesn't use "Easy" in its show, the rest of Son Lux's music has the same timbre and style. Son Lux's tone in collaboration with Pulse's ability to play and move well has all the makings of a good year for the Southern California group.

POW, whose name originally stood for "Pulse Open," started in WGI's Independent Open Class. The group quickly moved into Independent World after earning a bronze medal in their first season.

On Tuesday, POW announced its 2018 production, "The Fate of Kings." The group didn't share too much more information about its show, but you can catch BOTH Pulse groups at the 2018 WGI Percussion Temecula Regional in Temecula, CA, on Feb. 24-25.
