Jersey Surf Announces 2018 Show Inspired By Dutch Artist Piet Mondrian

Jersey Surf is bringing straight lines, primary colors, and a universal language of aesthetics to the turf this year through their recreation of Dutch artist Piet Mondrian's visions.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Jersey Surf announced their 2018 production, [mondo mondrian], which can be roughly translated to "Mondrian World."

On the corps' website, Jersey Surf offered a short description of the show: "The work of Piet Mondrian captures the essence and energy of the universe."

The group's music selections for [mondo mondrian] are currently being finalized, but if you know you like the work of an abstract art pioneer, you'll want to get out to see this East Coast corps before the 2018 season comes to end!

The corps' 2017 show, "Make It Our Own," rocked stadiums across the United States with its music choices of "Shofukan" by Snarky Puppy and "Chandelier" by Sia and Jesse Shatkin. With [mondo mondrian], Jersey Surf has a chance to break the party-like atmosphere so indicative its corps and possibly bring a higher level of sophistication to the field through the abstract artist's work.
