Both of the 2017 season's Bands of America Regionals in California hit your screen this weekend, with 18 bands competing in San Jose and 17 bands vying for the title in Downey, CA. The Northern California Regional in particular is drawing bands from all over, with Oregon and Washington represented as well as bands from the middle and southern parts of Nevada.

Here are a few of the bands you won't want to miss during Saturday's stream!

2 PM PDT - Homestead (CA)

Homestead is a name that bears respect in the marching community, whether it's the bright blue band from Indiana or the green and black clad Mighty Mustang Marching Band from Cupertino, CA. Homestead (CA) boasts a resume full of success in the Western Band Association (WBA), having taken the runner-up spot at the 2016 Western Band Association Grand Championships. It has been a Bands of America semifinalist as recently as 2015 and is a consistent BOA Regional finalist.

This season, the band's competitive show is entitled "The Forest of Light" and features a slew of music from notable film composers. Homestead will be playing "Suite for Strings, Harp, and Percussion: Prelude from Fahrenheit 451" by Bernard Hermann, "The Huntsman" by James Newton Howard, "Flynn Wanted" by Alan Menken, "Gabriel's Oboe" by Ennio Morricone, and finally the "End Credits from Tomorrowland" by Michael Giacchino.

3:45 PM PDT - Amador Valley (CA)

In the 2016 Northern California Regional, Amador Valley saw success by landing in sixth place at the end of the night. In Bands of America Regional competition, the Amador Valley Marching Dons have reached finals five times and have earned a finalist spot at the Western Band Association Grand Championships 11 times.

Amador Valley will perform its 2017 production "True Colors," using the music of "Kikiri" by Danny Elfman, "Jupiter Ascending" by Michael Giacchino, "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper, and "Horizons" by Paul Lovatt-Cooper.

4 PM PDT - Clovis West (CA)

Finishing out the preliminary portion of the day's competition is last year's Northern California Regional champion, Clovis West (CA). Building off of that success in 2016, the Clovis West band visited Bands of America Grand Nationals in Indianapolis and finished its season as a proud semifinalist. In program history, Clovis West has been named BOA Regional finalists 19 times.

The band's production this year is called "Carnival of Animals", taking after Camille Saint-Saens's piece of work. It will piece together movements from the entire work, most notably using "March of the Lions," "Swan," "Cuckoo In the Depths of the Woods," "Aquarium," "Elephant," "Swift Animals," and finally "Finale."
