Powder Springs Regional Set For Week 1 Of 2017 BOA Season

It is finally here. The Bands of America 2017 season is set to begin and the contests in store are can't miss. Outside of Atlanta, the 2017 BOA Powder Springs Regional will get the season started on Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm EDT.

HARRISON HIGH SCHOOL

The 2016 BOA Powder Springs Champion returns in 2017. Harrison H.S. is the 2-time BOA Class AAA Grand National Champions as well as a 3-time BOA Grand National Finalist. You will not want to miss out on their prelims performance scheduled at 4pm EDT. For 2017, the band from Kennesaw, GA will be performing their show entitled Sacred Circle featuring The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky, Humility and Love by Christopher Young, and The Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky.

McEACHERN HIGH SCHOOL

The hosts of the regional were finalists in 2016 and look to build upon their success. They just missed out on bronze by finishing 4th a year ago. Look for them to perform in prelims at 1:15pm EDT. McEachern High School will Paint The Town performing a variety of musical selections from Lost it to Trying by Son Lux, Jungle Tango by Jazz Mandolin Project, Place to Be by Hiromi Uehara, and We Go On by Gavin Greenway.

MILL CREEK HIGH SCHOOL

The Pride of Mill Creek is a six time Bands of America regional and super-regional finalist, and a two time BOA class AAAA champion. A 2016 Powder Springs Regional finalists, Mill Creek will look to continue their successes in 2017. They will be debuting their program called Amelia, with music from Apollo 13, One Day I’ll Fly Away from Moulin Rouge, Eric Whitacre’s Fly to Paradise, and original music by Vince Bingham.
