Carmel Takes the Bands of America Dayton Regional
The Carmel H.S. band claimed another Bands of America Regional Championship tonight in Dayton, Ohio.
Bands of America Dayton Regional has concluded a wonderful Saturday of performances and the Carmel High School Band scored a 80.85 to claim another BOA Regional Championship. The 2-time Grand National Champions were able to hold off Prospect H.S. and long-time BOA power Centerville H.S. This is Carmel's 17th regional championship and will look to be a contender again at Grand Nationals later this year in Indianapolis. Caption awards for outstanding music performance, visual performance, and general effect were all awarded to Carmel H.S. during finals.
Finishing in second place, scoring a 78.10, was the Prospect H.S. band from Mount Prospect, IL. Competing in the AAA division during prelims, Prospect was able to win their 1st class championship since 2001. They also swept captions in the AAA division as well.
In third place tonight was the Centerville Jazz Band from Ohio with a finals score of 76.35. The former BOA Grand National Champions took second during prelims in the AAAA division behind only Carmel. Rounding out the top 5 were Fishers H.S. with a score of 75.85 and Victor H.S with a 74.95.
