Avon HS & Juxtaposition excelled in Indy, LSM Winds just keeps winning, and more takeaways from the Feb 17-18 Winter Guard International competitive weekend

Weekend Recap: Avon HS, Juxtaposition Excel & LSM Winds Just Keeps Winning

It was an early-season competitive showdown between some of the nation's best Winter Guard ensembles, and fans were treated to excellent displays of pageantry and some interesting storylines. Here's a recap of what you need to know from the February 17-18 weekend:

Avon Color Guard Regional

Many of the activity's top competitors took the floor at Avon High School this weekend in an unreal start to the Winter Guard season. Juxtaposition ended up atop the IW table, outscoring Onyx and Lexis with their show, 'Off the Chain.' Avon HS and Carmel HS battled it out in Scholastic World, with Avon HS ultimately taking home a big win over the ever-competitive SW group.

Revival Winter Guard (IO), Centerville HS (SO), and Onyx A also had big class wins this weekend each outscoring their second-place counterparts by a minimum of one point.

Dallas Color Guard Regional

While Mirage (IW) and Flower Mound HS (SW) were the lone competitors in their respective classes, brand-new ensemble Ménage had a huge debut weekend in Independent Open, nabbing a victory over ORIGINS Open.

Marcus HS (SO) and Eagle Mountain Independent (IA) found themselves atop the table in their classes, alongside Hebron HS, which was crowned Scholastic A champs out of nearly fifty competitors.

Indianapolis Winds Regional

Fresh off its promotion to the Independent World Winds class, LSM Winds just keeps winning. The Michigan-based ensemble had a knockout run of its 2024 program titled, 'Venezia,' landing themselves atop the WIW table by a gap of 5.600 points.

Avon HS had another win this weekend, this time in the Scholastic World Winds category. Valhalla Winds took hope first in Independent Open Winds, while Ben Davis HS took home the dub in Scholastic A Winds. Miamisburg HS (WSO) and Kent City Indoor Winds (WIA) were the lone competitors in their classes.
