It's back! The 2023 edition of the Texas Marching Classic is right around the corner, and as in previous years, the lineup is absolutely jam-packed with some of the most talented high school marching band programs in Texas. Sixteen ensembles will take the field on October 14th at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex in Austin, TX and you can catch all the action LIVE on FloMarching.

To get prepped for all the excitement coming your way, here's everything you need to know about the competing ensembles and their 2023 programs. 

Anderson High School

  • The mission of the Anderson Band program is to cultivate in each student a lifelong love of music while continually raising our standards of excellence through common goals, unified efforts, mutual respect, and a tradition of success.
  • Anderson High School Trojan Band's 2023 program is titled, Are You The One

Austin High School

  • The Austin High School marching band is the most vital and fun-filled activity for our students at AHS because it combines everyone in our program in the fall into one large group regardless of age/ability. The band works together as a team to create an elaborate musical and visual production that competes at local competitions. The Austin High School marching band has performed with the British rock group Mumford & Sons three times, marched in a parade for Kendra Scott, and has been featured on the nationally televised NBC Today Show with Hoda & Jenna twice!
  • Austin High School Maroon Band's 2023 program is titled, Get Lost

Cedar Park High School

  • The Cedar Park High School Timberwolf Marching Band enrolls over 220 wind players, percussionists, and color guard members. Students in the 9th through 12th grade are instructed by highly qualified staff and private lesson instructors. The Timberwolf Band believes that hard work, humility, determination, and grit are just some characteristics that make this group successful. Cedar Park High School Music Staff develops students by instilling the ideas that we often need to ”check and adjust” in all aspects of our performances and in those adjustments the Timberwolf band will then be prime to Move and Inspire in everything we do.
  • Cedar Park High School's 2023 program is titled, Belle Mecanique

Cedar Ridge High School (Exhibition)

  • The Cedar Ridge High School Marching Band is a former Grand National finalist and consistent Regional finalist in the state of Texas. In 2021, the ensemble placed 7th in the 6A division during the UIL State Marching Band contest.
  • The Cedar Ridge Raider Band's 2023 program is titled, Medusa's Secret World
  • Musical selections include:
    • Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Sergei Rachmaninoff
    • Jacob Collier's version of All Night Long by Lionel Richie.

Dripping Springs High School

  • The band program in Dripping Springs ISD is about more than just music and marching, although DSISD bands at all levels consistently deliver performances of the highest caliber and earn top ratings and enthusiastic praise from contest judges. Band students on the whole tend to be high achievers in academics and other extracurricular undertakings. The self-discipline and pride in excellence instilled by the band program foster habits of excellence and success that students carry with them outside of the band hall and into their lives beyond school. 
  • The Dripping Springs Tiger Band's 2023 program is titled, Fugue State
  • Musical selections include selections by:

Georgetown High School

  • The Georgetown Eagle Band and Colorguard is a historic and decorated program in Central Texas. For decades, the Eagle Band has wowed audiences and earned respect among adjudicators. As one of the only music programs in the state to win five consecutive marching band titles, the Georgetown Band has a rich heritage. Fielding a competitive marching band, two winterguard units, three concert bands, and a jazz band, the GHS Eagle Band and Colorguard is a proud part of the Georgetown community.
  • The Georgetown Eagle Band's 2023 program is titled, Mind the Gap

Glenn High School

  • The mission of the Glenn Band is to inspire all who enter to achieve their maximum potential as musicians, students, community members, and leaders. We seek to achieve this by cultivating a culture of student leadership, performance excellence, and community.
  • The Glenn Grizzly Band's 2023 program is titled, Picking Up the Pieces

Lake Travis High School

  • The Lake Travis Cavalier Band is a group of student musicians with the highest standards of performance and behavior. We represent Lake Travis High School with pride, dignity, and professionalism. We perform at all LT football games, a series of marching and concert band contests and festivals, and at a variety of concerts and service events. Various smaller groups from within our band perform at selected events to meet the needs of our school district and community. These groups include, marching band, drumline, colorguard, concert bands, jazz band, percussion ensemble, and various other smaller ensembles.
  • Lake Travis Cavalier Band's 2023 program is titled, AnonymoUS
  • Musical selections include:
    • “Symphonic Movement” by Václav Nelhýbel
    • “Into a Virtual World” by Amin Bhatia
    • “Harvest” by John Mackey

Leander High School

  • Ranked among the top high school music programs in the country, the Leander High School Marching Band consistently strives for and achieves top honors and awards in marching and concert competitions. The Lion Band was the BOA Grand National 3A Champion most recently in 2019, was UIL State Marching Contest finalist in 2018, and was the 2021 UIL State Marching Band bronze medalist.
  • Leander High School Marching Band's 2023 program is titled, Ripple

Louis D. Brandeis High School

  • The Brandeis High School Bronco Band is a successful 6A program based in San Antonio, TX. With consistent BOA & UIL Area Finals appearances, the program aims to continue its growth and reach new heights.
  • The Brandeis Bronco Band's 2023 program is titled, The Wild Frontier

McNeil High School

  • The Marching Band at McNeil High School is one of the largest student organizations on campus with 200 students involved. The Marching Band consists of students from all concert bands, as well as the color guard. Marching Band begins with a mini-camp in May, followed by summer band during the month of August, which all participants are required to attend. Once school starts, the Marching Band rehearses three times a week and performs at pregame and halftime of all football games. The Marching Band competes in 4-6 competitions on Saturdays during the fall in the University Interscholastic League (UIL), USBands, and Bands of America (BOA) circuits.
  • McNeil High School Maverick Band's 2023 program is titled, Six Degrees

Moe & Gene Johnson High School

  • At JHS, the term Johnson Jaguar Band encompasses all band and color guard students. We are one unit and one family. In the Johnson Band, we have the responsibility to provide the best possible services to our school, our families, and to our community.
  • Johnson High School Jag Band's 2023 program is titled, Long Live the King(s)

Round Rock High School

  • The Dragon Band is one of the largest student organizations on the campus of Round Rock High School. The school is comprised of over 3,400 students and is classified as a Texas 6A school. The band program typically accounts for 10% of the campus student population. The Round Rock High School Dragon Band consists of over 300 students and continues to grow with each passing year.  The band has received countless awards over the years and continues to take their brand of high-energy, vivid, entertaining and exciting marching programs to new venues and earn top recognition during each performance along the way.
  • The Round Rock High School Dragon Band's 2023 program is titled, Luminous

Rouse High School

  • The Rouse Band Directors and Staff are dedicated, talented, and hardworking teachers and mentors; but to put on a quality program where they can focus mainly on the students, they need the help and support of family, friends, and the Rouse community. The non-profit Rouse Band Booster Club provides organization to that support. Our mission is to promote excellence in education through the support of an outstanding instrumental music program.  We believe that a great band program develops the physical, mental, and musical gifts of our students.  The discipline learned and the work habits rehearsed serve the band members throughout their life.
  • The Rouse Band's 2023 program is titled, Requiem

Vandegrift High School

  • The Marching Band at Vandegrift High School is one of the largest student organizations on campus with over 400 students involved. The Marching Band consists of students from all concert bands, as well as the Vision Dance Company. Marching Band begins with a mini-camp in May, followed by summer band during the month of August, which all participants are required to attend. Once school starts the Marching Band rehearses three times a week and performs at pregame and halftime of all football games. The Marching Band competes in 6-8 competitions on Saturdays during the fall in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) and Bands of America (BOA) circuits.
  • Vandegrift Viper Band and Vision Dance Company's 2023 program is titled, Spotlight

Westlake High School

  • The Westlake High School Band Program offers students in grades 9-12 an unparalleled musical and performance experience, with programs in marching band, concert band, percussion, jazz and color guard. In its 40+ year history, the Chaparral Band has won the Texas State Honor Band three times. The Westlake High School Band is also one of only 14 bands world-wide to win the prestigious Sudler Shield and Sudler Flag, which are international awards given annually by the John Philip Sousa Foundation.
  • The Westlake Thunder Band's 2023 program is titled, All the Lonely People
