Preview of Day 1 at BOA Indianapolis Super Regional
As if Bands of America needs to give us any more reasons to watch the weekend of events in San Antonio, it has deemed it necessary to provide us with an additional super regional. The Bands of America Indianapolis Super Regional, presented by Yamaha, is set to fill Lucas Oil Stadium on Friday, Nov. 4, and Saturday, Nov. 5. So let's take a closer look at Friday's first day of preliminary performances.

Indianapolis Super Regional - Day 1


Afternoon Block 1

(All times are EST)
Madison Central H.S. - 12:30 PM
The Madison Central High School marching band is the two-time defending Kentucky Class 5A champions. The band has been a perennial finalist in Kentucky, winning four state titles and placing in state finals 18 times. The Madison Central wind ensemble has performed at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival and has been a selected performer at six KMEA State Conventions.

Bellbrook H.S. - 1:15 PM
The Bellbrook Marching Eagles have amassed an impressive list of regional, national, and international titles and awards. They are a 21-time Bands of America Regional class champion and an eight-time Bands of America Grand National class champion.


Afternoon Block 2

Wilmington H.S. - 3:15 PM
The PRIDE of Wilmington marching band is an all extra-curricular activity and part of a complete band program where students have the opportunity to perform in a concert band, jazz band, and chambers groups year-round. The bands in the Wilmington City School District consistently receive top ratings in the Ohio Music Education Association events and have been featured performers at the state professional development conference.

Providence Catholic H.S. - 4 PM
The Providence Catholic band program is one of the most visible activities at the high school and in its community. The Providence band also enhances the student experience by touring all over the country every other year. Some of the Marching Celtics recent tours include Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Branson, Missouri; and Nashville, Tennessee.


Afternoon Block 3

Carmel H.S. - 7 PM
The Carmel Marching Greyhounds are a two-time grand national champion, a 20-time grand national finalist, and a 16-time BOA Regional champion. They have also won four Indiana state championships. The Marching Greyhounds have participated in the Tournament of Roses Parade, the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, and have toured London, Hawaii, and New York. They are a 2013 recipient of the Sudler Shield and have also been named the Indiana state concert band champion three times.

Lawrence Township H.S. - 7:45 PM
Lawrence Township has been recognized as one of the "Top 100 Communities" for music education by the NAMM Foundation. The band is a consistent ISSMA Class A state finalist as well as a frequent grand national finalist and semifinalist. Lawrence Township will be participating in the 2017 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
