SoCal Up Next for Bands of America
With only a few weeks left in the season, Bands of America is unleashing its biggest triple header weekend of the year. Spreading from coast to coast, this Saturday is sure to remembered for a long time. In Southern California, the Bands of America Long Beach Regional, presented by Yamaha, will serenade the Pacific. Here's our preview of the event in SoCal but don't forget about the regional in St. George, Utah, and the Super Regional in Atlanta.

Long Beach Regional


Morning Block 1

(All times are PST)
Carlsbad H.S. - 8:45 AM
The Carlsbad High School Marching Lancers have a long and proud history of success in the SCSBOA circuit, receiving a championship bid in 10 of the past 11 years.  The Marching Lancers had an undefeated regional season in 2014 and continuously receive outstanding percussion, guard, and visual sweepstakes within their class and overall. This April the band will be doing a performance tour in Chicago, Illinois.

Nogales H.S. - 9:15 AM
Under the direction of Brad Pollock, the Nobles were recently in the 2015 Macy's Parade in New York City and continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of the Nogales music program.


Morning Block 2

Homestead H.S. - 11:00 AM
Homestead is a consistent WBA Grand Championship finalist and was runner-up at the BOA Northern California Regional in 2015. The band was a BOA Grand Nationals semifinalist and placed 19th overall in 2015. This year, Homestead performed at the NFL Experience in San Francisco and also performed on Super Bowl Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The band was a 2011 Macy's Thanksgiving Day participant.

Covina H.S. - 11:15 AM
The Covina High School marching band and color guard is under the direction of Daniel Franco. The Covina marching band is a 10-time Class 2A regional champion and a Southern California state finalist.


Afternoon Block 1

Clovis West H.S. - 1:45 PM
Clovis West is committed to providing and maintaining a quality music program and offers student experiences in band, orchestra, jazz, percussion, and color guard. The band has traveled throughout the U.S. and has twice performed at the BOA National Concert Band Festival. Clovis West is an 17-time BOA Regional finalist and was the 2010 BOA St. George Regional champion. Clovis West just won the 2016 Bands of America San Jose Regional on October 22. 

Ayala H.S. - 2:30 PM
The Ayala High School marching band is the three-time and reigning Western Band Association grand champion. The band has also won a Bands of America Regional championship nine times in its history.
