We have reached the final weekend of triple header events for the Bands of America 2016 season, and it has served up an incredible lineup. In the beautiful southwest corner of Utah, the Bands of America St. George Regional, presented by Yamaha is set to explode with amazing performances. Check out our preview of some of the bands performing at St. George. Then check out the Atlanta Super Regional and the Long Beach Regional as well.

St. George Regional


Morning Block 1

(All times are MST)
Juan Diego Catholic H.S. - 8:30 AM
The "Pride of Juan Diego" marching band is the newest addition to the high school's instrumental music program and celebrated its inaugural season in 2015. This group competes on the Utah Marching Band circuit, performs at many school and community events, and supports the Soaring Eagles football team at every home game.

Mountain Crest H.S. - 9:00 AM
The Mountain Crest High School band has enjoyed a tradition of excellence since 1983, earning many awards and honors at the local, state, and national levels. A former Bands of America Regional finalist, Mountain Crest was awarded the John Philip Sousa Sudler Shield and has performed at the National Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C.


Morning Block 1

Stansbury H.S. - 9:45 AM
The Stansbury High School marching band has received several awards in the 2015 season, including third place at the Red Rocks UMEA State Championship for Division 1A.

Central Valley H.S. - 10:15 AM
The Central Valley band has been recognized throughout the Pacific Northwest for its efforts in the area of pageantry. The band was selected in 2013 to represent the state of Washington at the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Parade in Washington D.C.


Afternoon Block 1

Bingham H.S. - 1:30 PM
The Bingham High School Department of Music enjoys a long-standing tradition of excellence during it's 108 year history along the Wasatch Front. Over the years, the department has grown to include multiple concert and jazz bands, orchestras, choirs, and other courses such as AP Theory, MIDI Electronic Music, Guitar and Handbell Choir. The BHS marching band is the most visual and public component of these offerings and enjoys a rich history of performance since the 1940s in the Bingham Canyon Mine.

Westlake H.S. - 1:45 PM
The Marching Thunder are a five-time Bands of America Regional Championship finalist in Utah and California. In 2012 and 2013, the Marching Thunder were crowned the Utah 4A state champions. In December 2014, the band represented the state of Utah in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii, earning the grand champion award for "Most Outstanding Band."


Afternoon Block 2

American Fork H.S. - 2:45 PM
The American Fork H.S. marching band has represented Utah in three Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parades and two Macy's Thanksgiving Parades in New York City. The band has placed in the finals of the Bands of America Grand Nationals and has been BOA Regional champions seven times. American Fork represented the state of Utah in the 2005 Presidential Inaugural Parade and is a recipient of the Sudler Shield.

Sky View H.S. - 3:45 PM
The Sky View High School marching band has been a Bands of America Western Regional finalist for the past six years, placing second in 2014 and 2015.
