While bands in Texas and Tennessee are competing at the Austin, TX Regional and the Clarksville, TN Regional, the Bands of America Dayton Regional will be a wide-open contest in Ohio on Saturday. Following last year's rainout (knocks on wood), this year's event will have a dramatically different look with an influx of new bands coming to the show. With only three bands returning from 2015's top 10, the Dayton Regional will surely be just as competitive as it will be entertaining.

Welcome Stadium will open its gates at 9:15 AM (All times listed EST) and the first band to take the field will be Greenfield-Central H.S. at 9:45 AM. Concluding the morning block is Troy (11 AM). The Troy band has qualified for the state finals every year since 1980. It should be a good start to the contest.

After the lunch break comes the first of two afternoon blocks. The first block will feature eight bands, most notably is 14-time Grand National finalist Carmel (1 PM). Following a silver medalist position last year in Dayton, Carmel looks to stay in contention with another amazing program. The 2005 BOA Grand National Champions will look to get off to a great start as they build momentum to Grand Nationals in Indianapolis later in November.

The last prelim block of performances won't get any easier. There's another storied BOA program in the mix. Centerville will begin its performance at 4 PM on Saturday afternoon. The Centerville Jazz Band is one of Bands of America's most decorated programs. Winners of an incredible 19 BOA Regional Championships, Centerville made finals at Grand Nationals 19 times, including in 1992 when they were awarded the Grand National Championship. Look for Centerville to improve on last year's fourth-place finish.

Preliminary awards will be presented at 4:30 PM, following an exhibition performance by the Pride of Dayton Marching Band. At 7:15 PM, finals will begin with playing of the national anthem, and the first finalist band will perform at 7:45 PM. Finals scores and awards will be announced at 10:30 PM.
