A Chanukah Celebration by the Mira Costa High School Wind Symphony - Mira Costa High School

Nov 21, 2020

Mira Costa High School Wind Symphony

A Chanukah Celebration
Music by David Bobrowitz and Kenneth Soper
Director or Bands - Joel Carlson
Percussion Director - Jeremy Miller

The Mira Costa Wind Symphony is one of the premiere high school wind bands in California and has been hailed by audiences and adjudicators alike from coast to coast for their artistic performances of Collegiate and Professional repertoire.

Each of the Mira Costa High School performances has a lead in that starts to explain little bits about how we have been able to find ways to rehearse and ultimately perform here at the WBA Virtual Festival Finale despite having some of the strictest quarantining regulations in the country in Los Angeles County, California. While the videos make many things clear, it remains to be said that our wind instrument players are still not allowed to play wind instruments in person at all in our county and all though the marching band has been able to practice and perform in person visually with the winds and colorguard and musically with the drumline, our concert and jazz ensembles have been 100% distance for every person since March of 2020. We hope you enjoy our performances and look forward to bringing the feedback from the adjudicators back into rehearsal as we continue to practice and prepare for our final performance of this material and more at our Winter Concert, coming soon to a screen near you December 23rd, 7PM PST. Check www.miracostabands.com for details on purchasing tickets as we get closer to the beginning of December!
