This weekend's BOA West Texas show marks the final Texas regional of the 2017 BOA season that isn't a Super Regional! At Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, TX, 23 bands will compete in preliminary competition from 9:15 AM CDT and 4:00 PM CDT.

This weekend's regional will give many bands from the western half of Texas the chance to compete closer to home and show their stuff against some of the heavy hitters from the South. Some bands performing in Saturday's show already have some accolades from the 2017 season and are definitely looking to capitalize on the success they've seen so far this season.

10:30 AM CDT - Del Rio (TX)

The Del Rio Mighty Ram Band made their last appearance at BOA South Texas in McAllen, TX where the band made finals and earned 8th place! Del Rio (TX) will be performing their 2017 show "Paradise Lost." The music for their show includes "Fly to Paradise" by Eric Whitacre, "Polovtsian Dances" by Alexander Borodin, "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra" and "Overture to School for Scandal" by Samuel Barber, "Lost in Paradise" by Evanescence and finally, "Paradise Lost" by Carol Brittin Chambers.

3:00 PM CDT - Claudia Taylor Johnson (TX)

Claudia Taylor Johnson (TX), or CTJ, performed their jaw-dropping production "...the Forest through the Trees." at the BOA Austin Regional and really made a statement earning an 85.05 to put them in first place. In 2017, they already have a BOA Regional Championship under their belt and have the opportunity to earn another two -- one this weekend and one in San Antonio at the coveted BOA San Antonio Super Regional on November 4.

The Timber Creek band will have an opportunity to medal at this weekend's competition, taking huge steps for their program just weeks apart from their last big landmark.
