Kidsgrove Scouts Make Trip Across Atlantic
The Kidsgrove Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps is making the trip across the Atlantic Ocean for the fourth time since 2010 to compete in next month's Drum Corps Associates World Championships in Rochester, NY.

The Drum Corps United Kingdom (DCUK) and Drum Corps Europe (DCE) affiliated corps is bringing 196 people stateside including members, staff, volunteers, and family to continue the same operation it would maintain in its home of England. In the Kidsgrove Scouts' most recent visit to DCA Championships, the corps received a 91.90 to finish an impressive sixth place in Open Class. Competition aside, the Scouts have a full world class trip planned, fun included!

The corps will be making pit stops at some iconic locations, including New York City, Niagara Falls, and Darien Lake Theme Park between rehearsal days and before it hits Rochester for DCA Championships on September 2-3.

Sporting new uniforms, Kidsgrove Scouts will also be using equipment and trailers from the Oregon Crusaders, another example of the incredible ties that bring drum corps across the world together in support of each other. To supplement the corps staff, recent DCI Hall of Fame inductee TJ Doucette of the reigning champion Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps will be teaching the guard, and Blue Devils battery instructor Jared Andrews is helping the percussion.

Catch the Kidsgrove Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps at DCA World Championships prelims on Saturday, September 2. If you enjoyed what you saw from Blue Stars this season, you're likely to really enjoy what the Scouts are bringing to the table with their 2017 production, "Montagues and Capulets." Keep checking for an updated schedule as FloMarching gets more information from DCA as the season wraps up!
