Blue Stars' Guard Uniforms Reimagine Classic Stories

When the Blue Stars revealed their musical selections, the first thing that came to mind was how they were going to visually represent three wildly different period stories. Well, they answered that question with their guard uniforms.

The title of their 2017 production is "Star Crossed" and features music from a trio movies directed by Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann: "Moulin Rouge!," "Romeo + Juliet," and "The Great Gatsby." The Blue Stars tackled the contrasting styles of these classic stories with three distinct uniform sets, ranging from sultry reds and revealing cuts for the "Moulin Rouge!" to Renaissance-themed costumes for "Romeo + Juliet" to Roaring '20s pinstripes and flapper dresses for "The Great Gatsby."

Get your first glimpse of the Blue Stars at the DCI Spring Training Finale on Tuesday, June 20, beginning at 6 PM CDT and then watch them again at DCI Minnesota.
