In a weekend extravaganza, Bands of America is unleashing the first of four super regionals in St. Louis and the Bands of America San Jose Regional, presented by Yamaha, in sunny California. This is the first of back-to-back weekends of BOA events in California, with the Long Beach Regional on October 29.

San Jose Regional

Morning Block 1

(All times are PST)
Independence H.S. - 10 AM
This year marks the 40th year of the Independence High School marching band and color guard. Over the years, the band has earned numerous awards and accolades. Independence has participated in the Tournament of Roses, Orange Bowl, Macy's Thanksgiving, Fiesta Bowl, and London New Year's Day parades in addition to competing annually in the Western Band Association circuit.

The King's Academy H.S. - 10:15 AM
The Knights Brigade was the 2015 Western Band Association Class A champion.

Afternoon Block 1

Live Oak H.S. - 1:15 PM
The Live Oak Emerald Regime was the first band to win the BOA Grand National Championship in 1976 and today is the only California band to hold that distinction.

William S. Hart H.S. - 1:45 PM
The Hart Regiment has been named the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association Marching Band champion in their division 12 times. This is an accomplishment unmatched by any other group since the inception of the championships in 2002. The Regiment has also competed at the finals level consistently at Bands of America Regional Championships since 2002.

Afternoon Block 2

Homestead H.S. - 2:30 PM
Homestead is a consistent WBA Grand Championship finalist and was runner-up at the BOA Northern California Regional in 2015. The band was a BOA Grand Nationals semifinalist and placed 19th overall in 2015. This year, Homestead performed at the NFL Experience in San Francisco and also performed on Super Bowl Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The band was a 2011 Macy's Thanksgiving Day participant.

James Logan H.S. - 3:45 PM
The James Logan band and color guard has been recognized in many ways in recent years, including as the 2014 Western Band Association grand champion. The color guard was the 2015 WGI World Class bronze medalist. Additionally, the band has also performed at the California All-State Music Education Conference in 2015 and most recently was a featured performer at the WASBE Regional Conference in Prague this past July.
