A Quick Look At BOA Northwest Ohio
This weekend, 27 bands will meet at the University of Toledo to perform in the 2017 Bands of America Northwest Ohio Regional Championship. Right in the middle of UT's campus, some of the best marching bands in the Midwest will take the field at the Glass Bowl.

You can see a full schedule for Saturday's prelims competition here, starting at 8 AM EDT with Olentangy (Ohio). Prelims end at 4:30 PM with William Mason (Ohio). 

Let's take a look at some of the bands making the trip!

William Mason (Ohio)

Making the drive from southwest Ohio, the William Mason marching band will be wrapping up the preliminary performance block at 4:15 PM. Mason has won four Bands of America Regional Championships, including this same one last year. In 2016, William Mason earned an impressive 86.55 on October 1. This year, the band's music selections include "Horkstow Grange," "Molly On the Shore," "Irish Tune From County Derry," and "The Warriors" by Percy Grainger.

Centerville (Ohio)

Centerville has been a name that always carries quite a reputation of excellence in the state of Ohio. This year, the Centerville Jazz Band will be performing its show "Beyond" in Toledo at 3:15 PM. Centerville's show is comprised of original music written by Andrew Markworth, featuring "Giant Steps" by John Coltrane, "Hello" by Adele Adkin, and "Beyond" by Daft Punk.

Morton (IL)

Morton will be making the six-hour trip to Ohio to show off its production "Out of Time" at 12:45 PM. Their show will include original music by Craig Fitzpatrick based on Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 4" and "Dance of the Snowflakes." It will also include inspiration from "Arrival of the Birds" and "Clock Tower Parade." The Morton band is a Bands of America Grand Nationals Semifinalist and a Super Regional Class AA Champion.
