5 More Hidden Gems From WGI Indianapolis Color Guard Regional
While the WGI Dayton Percussion/Winds Regional provided us with some amazing percussive- and wind-based moments, let's take a look at some of the hidden gems from the color guard performances at the WGI Indianapolis Color Guard Regional this past weekend.

Smashing Performance

Being emotionally expressive in a WGI color guard show is something all guard instructors strive to bring out in their students. However, sometimes getting so lost into the character of the show can result in a hard landing. Luckily, Anna Mills was all right and her guard instructor was quick to provide a bag of ice for the knot on her forehead.

Weekend Of Firsts

Kettering Fairmont High School had an amazing weekend full of firsts -- good and bad. The good was first-time guard director Kelsey Klawonn taking Kettering back to their first WGI Color Guard Regional in years and finishing fifth in a tough scholastic A class. The bad was their senior soloist tearing her meniscus in a morning rehearsal on Saturday. Well wishes go out for a speedy recovery.

Andy Warhol Goes Flying

Plymouth-Canton High School had one particular moment in their show that almost sent a guard member into the front row of spectators at Warren Central High School. Performing its Andy Warhol-inspired show, the guard did a cheerleading-style aerial about two feet from the front edge of the floor!

Jamming To Beyonce

The Reeths-Puffer guard put on quite the performance on and off the floor. While they were in the hallway getting ready to go into warm-up they were begging for some hype music. When they got it, all of the performers jumped up and entertained all the surrounding guards watching with this impromptu dance routine.

Good Warm-Up

Flushing High School gave us the prime example of how a good warm-up can lead to a great performance. Check out this toss during their warm-up and then see how well it translated to their performance!
